Standing Rigging
Our goal is to have THE BEST PRICES for standing rigging replacement out there either locally or on the internet. How do we do this? We have an onsite swaging machine that allows us to get your job done faster saving your money on labor. Every boat presents itself with their own challenges. Most boats standing rigging can be changed with the mast still in the air. A good rule of thumb is each stay/shroud will take 1.5 hours of labor to replace + swaging labor. The headstay with a furling system usually takes anywhere from 3-5 hours to replace. These numbers are not a science and it can be better or sometimes worse. Also if it is a complete re-rig we normally offer a better rate then these numbers represent. Spreaders are usually the limiting factor when it comes to replacing a rig with the mast in the air. The biggest problem comes at the spreader tips. Do we have to remove them? Are we going to be able to remove them? Do you terminal ends that go through the base of the spreader? Please don’t hesitate to call and discuss your boat’s projects and needs. We are here to help. Onsite Swaging! With our ability to swage on site we can save big money on travel labor and get your job done in the most efficient manner! Our materials price are as competitive as they get, call today for a quote.
Solar Installs
Our team at Onboard Rigging is capable of mounting and installing solar panels on your yacht that we can incorporate into your marine energy systems. Our team can help evaluate you current needs and your future desires and help build your system.
Our team has been doing this for years and has the skills, experience and material on site to get your boat quickly and safely ready for your large energy needs. .
Furling Systems
As a rule of thumb, when you get a new furling system we will replace your head-stay. The labor involved in replacing the head-stay down the road is not worth the fraction of a cost we are adding to the system today and inspecting a head-stay with a furler on it is nearly impossible. What system is best for you? Our view at Onboard Rigging is that most modern furling systems are built well enough for any cruising boat. Which system we pick is a group decision and usually based on which system is most affordable priced for your size boat. We can discuss which options make sense for you.
Lifelines
Lifelines are an important part of a boat’s rigging that is usually neglected until it’s a close call and a bad story. We decided to change our rate of charge for these services because they are an expensive project and we’d like to make sure your lifelines are safe and affordable to maintain. We will charge a flat rate of $100 for travel and the time we are there to build lifelines + the normal swaging labor. Our on site swaging machine means we can quickly and accurately make lifelines that fit your boat. We offer vinyl coated or regular 1×19 un-coated wire. We can also use a high-tech dynema line to make your lifelines.
